George Pennacchio, entertainment reporter for ABC7 Eyewitness News and host of the station’s Oscars specials, is the Los Angeles Press Club’s 2018 recipient of the Luminary Award for Career Achievement. The award will be presented at the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards Gala on December 2 at the Biltmore Hotel, downtown Los Angeles.
The Luminary Award honors individuals within the Entertainment Media for their Career Achievement.
George Pennacchio is one of the most recognizable, respected and liked reporters in Los Angeles. He has been with ABC7 since 1996 and is a frequent guest (and winner) at LA Press Club’s Award Shows.
“I am honored and humbled to receive The Luminary Award for Career Achievement. What a wonderful surprise this is for me! I think it’s fantastic. The LA Press Club nurtures the value and the hard work involved in our world of arts and entertainment reporting,” said George Pennacchio.
On the same evening Carol Burnett will receive the clubs Legend Award. Los Angeles Times food critic Jonathan Gold will be honored posthumously with the Impact Award.
